  • 2026 Wilson Series Concert: Palaver Strings

Palaver Strings: Based out of Portland, Maine, the Grammy-nominated, musician-led and nonprofit organization Palaver Strings seeks to strengthen and inspire community through music. Committed to performance, education, and creative collaboration, Palaver specializes in programming underrepresented voices. The term “palaver” comes from the term “palaver hut,” a traditional place for discussion and conflict resolution in Liberia and other West African countries.   • Journey of Faith Workshop

    Wednesdays, January 14 and 28, February 11, LMH Main Room, 6-7:30pm. The nursery/conference room and Room A will be used as breakout rooms. Are you interested in exploring your spiritual journey through writing and reflection? Reverend Rebecca and the Worship Associates are leading a three-session Journey of Faith workshop. We will guide participants through a process of exploring your spiritual journey from childhood until today. Each session will offer time for creative exploration and optional sharing. There will be writing prompts to work on between sessions. This is a wonderful way to begin the new year by focusing on your spiritual journey and deepening your connection with FRS members. The class series will be limited to 20 participants. Contact Rev. Rebecca Bryan at revrebecca.bryan@frsuu.org if you would like to sign up. We will be looking for a few participants who are willing to share their Journey of Faith with the congregation this spring. (Sharing with congregation is wonderful, but optional.)

  • Caregivers Support Group

    Meets monthly on the 4th Wednesdays, LMH Room A, 12:30-2pm This group supports those caregivers who care for loved ones with some type of dementia. Members share their coping strategies, suggestions about supportive agencies, medical references, etc. The group is facilitated by Nancy Kidd, LICSW, Rev. Jane Tuohy, and Linda Harding.   • Mild Cognitive Impairment Support Group

    2nd and 4th Mondays, LMH Room A, 11am-12:30pm. This group, for those who have a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment of some type of dementia, offers members an opportunity to share with others who are facing this-life limiting diagnosis. Members can be vulnerable and open about the many challenges they face, as well as their adaptive coping mechanisms. The group is facilitated by Nancy Kidd, LICSW; Rev. Jane Tuohy; and Linda Harding.
